This information might seem extremely surprising, but it’s unfortunately real. In some countries, you may buy live sea turtles from food market for food. It surprised Arron Culling and Mark, his co-worker when they were in a local market in Papua New Guinea and saw sea turtles.
Although most sea turtles are endangered, but it’s still legal to fish for them in some places such as Mexico, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. They get it for its meat and shells. Aaron and Mark knew that these two poor turtles are going to be bought for food, so they bought them for $50 and set them free in the ocean. They rescued 10 other turtles and they will rescue more if they had the chance.

More information about protecting sea turtles can be seen on the Sea Turtle Conservancy’s website.
