Vet refuses to take German Shepherd after they saw his wounds are too extreme. The accident occurred in Danielle McCluskey’s home who had a German Shepherd called Harper.
A stranger entered the house and was surprised upon finding the 3-year-old German Shepherd dog in the backyard. Then, he was shocked when he found in the backyard a 3-year-old German Shepherd dog.
Therefore, to prevent Harper from coming near him, the stranger used a hammer to harm the German Shepherd.
Meanwhile, Danielle McCluskey perceived the two strikes that the German Shepherd was attacked by; she cried her name loud as she found harper on the ground crying in pain. Although the stranger escaped, Harper was terribly wounded in her back and spine.
To rescue Harper, Danielle took her to the veterinarian to treat her wounds. However, the first vet refuses to take German Shepherd, as her wounds were too extreme and deadly.
Another doctor brought Harper to heal her wounds and although it was so serious. The surgery lasted more than 2 hours.
As per the vet. Harper is currently healing; but, there is a 10% to 20% that she can walk again.
The surgery was also expensive costing $3,000. Luckily, GoFundMe and the community raised the money for the surgery.
Unfortunately, Harper will need a wheelchair for the rest of her life. There are dogs who don’t like wheelchairs. Therefore, dogs will not be comfortable with a wheelchair. Nevertheless, Harper is healing at Companion Animal Hospital in Albany.
